About Us

Hello, Thank you for visiting Splitting Image!! My Husband and I are both Retired Army, Combat Veterans. Once retired from the military we both continued our careers in government contracting and Federal service. We have a combined 42 years of Active Army Military service and 17 years of Federal service. Two of our children have also served in the Army and our youngest Son is still on active duty. Darryl is currently employed with the National Park Service, and I am now a full-time small business owner! We have 4 children, 3 Granddaughter’s (including a set of identical twins) and a Grandson! Being that we are both Army Veterans, we know first hand how important is to be able to capture moments through pictures. We have missed countless Birthdays, Holidays, School functions and many other events over the course of our time in the military so we wanted to be able to help others capture those moments in a fun and unique way. My Husband has been an avid photographer his whole life and I absolutely loved to look at all the photos we had accumulated of our family and many different locations around the globe over the years. Unfortunately, in November 2017, we lost our home and everything we owned, to include our beloved dog Smokey in a house fire. We quickly realized that our most treasured items lost were the ones that could never be replaced, PICTURES are at the very top of that list! Although devastated, we have been Blessed beyond measure and although our recovery journey has been at times stressful, we are Thankful because it could have been much worse. This unfortunate event has given us a clearer perspective on life; tell those you love, you LOVE them often, enjoy every moment, find joy in life’s simple pleasures, be kind to others, and most importantly, spend quality time with those close to you!​
